Swinburne University of Technology was founded over a 100 years ago at Hawthorn, Melbourne. The university operates out of 6 locations surrounding Melbourne city, with campuses at Prahran, Wantirna, Hawthorn, Lilydale, Healesville and Croydon. The university grounds at Prahran hosts the National Circus Arts Institute and a Design School. The Institute offers courses in subjects ranging from life sciences and business to engineering sciences and information technology. It also conducts diploma courses in faculties such as business, social studies, engineering and the arts.
