Course description:

This course is for people aspiring to manage horse enterprises such as studs, stables and equestrian centres. It emphasises effective management methods and problem solving. Students develop their technical skills in areas such as nutrition, behaviour, health genetics and reproduction. Students are brought into close contact with experts from the field such as veterinarians, nutritionists and researchers.

Entry requirements:

Applicant must have satisfactorily completed an approved Year 12 course of study or its equivalent, or be mature age. Applicants should have appropriate skills, and experience in the horse industry is desirable. Applicants must demonstrate English language competence for both study and visa application purposes. Students from countries where the first language is not English must have an IELTS score of at least 5.5 (general or academic).

Application details:

Students should complete the application form and attach documents such as: translated and certified copies of academic qualifications, English language assessment and a summary of any work experience. Applicants must attach a non-refundable application fee of A$100 by bank draft to South West Institute of TAFE or the payment can also be made by credit card by completing the relevant section on the Application Form. They should send the completed application forms to International Programs, South West Institute of TAFE, PO Box 674, Warrnambool, Victoria 3280, Australia.
