Course description:
The Advanced Diploma of Hospitality aims to provide students with the skills and knowledge for them to be competent as a senior manager in any hospitality functional area. They will be able to analyse, design, and execute judgements using wide-ranging technical, creative, conceptual or managerial competencies. Student’s knowledge base may be specialised or broad and they will often be accountable for group outcomes.
Entry requirements:
Students should have completed the Swinburne English for Academic Purposes (EAP) Level 2 program with a teacher's recommendation for the required level of study or obtaining a minimum IELTS overall band of 5.5 (Academic Module) with no individual band below 5.0 or a TOEFL (Paper-based) minimum score of 527 (with a Test of Written English (TWE) score of 4.5; or a TOEFL (Computer-based) minimum score of 196 (with Written Writing score of 4.5) or a TOEFL (Internet-based) minimum score of 71 with no band less than 20.

This campus is known as Swinburne's 'arts campus', since it houses a number of arts areas including the National Institute of Circus Arts (NICA) and the renowned Faculty of Design, which offers a range of graphic, industrial, interior/exhibition and multimedia design courses at undergraduate and postgraduate level. At the TAFE level it also has graphic design, multimedia design, costume, performing arts and makeup courses. In addition to the arts offerings, Prahran also has a range of programs in business, social sciences, and hospitality. This is one of Swinburne's dual sector campuses, meaning that it provides both TAFE and university programs. In particular, excellent pathways are available in the design area for students to articulate from TAFE to university. This campus is set in a scenic 24-hectare rural setting with panoramic views across the Lillydale Lake to the Yarra Valley hills and is at the gateway to this popular wine and tourism region. The campus offers TAFE, undergraduate and postgraduate courses in an environment that is personal, supportive and has a great sense of community. Modern buildings featuring the latest computer and media technology are set amongst the eucalypts, and local artworks and sculptures adorn the walls and grounds. The modern purpose-built Student Village has 100 beds available in 25 self-catering apartments. Each apartment contains four or five separately keyed bedrooms, a kitchen and a lounge room. Sixty four bedrooms have ensuite bathrooms and thirty six bedrooms have "twin-share" bathrooms. A number of ensuite apartments have wheelchair access.
