Course description:

This program is a specialist undergraduate finance program which provides a broad theoretical background in finance and specific technical skills that are required for many career opportunities in the finance industry. This degree is also available in the following combined and double degrees: Bachelor of Applied Finance with Bachelor of Laws, Bachelor of Applied Finance with the degree of Bachelor of Commerce - Professional Accounting, Bachelor of Applied Finance with Bachelor of Economics and Bachelor of Applied Finance with the degree of Bachelor of Actuarial Studies. This course is suitable for students wanting to gain a university qualification in specific finance areas and for students interested in developing skills in the area of finance and learning how to apply this knowledge in different contexts. Bachelor of Applied Finance graduates are well qualified for employment in finance and banking both in Australia and internationally and have excellent career opportunities in specialist financial institutions, treasury and finance departments of large private companies, security and currency trading, portfolio management and general financial and investment advising.

Entry requirements:

Students must have a sound knowledge (or equivalent) of mathematics. The required Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) for this course is 83.50. No work experience required. Students should also have a minimum IELTS (Academic English only) score of 6.5 overall, with 6.0 in each section; minimum TOEFL (paper based test) score of 580 overall, with 53 listening, 52 reading, 59 structure/written expression, 5.0 TWE; TOEFL (computer based test) score of 237 overall, with 19 listening, 19 reading, 25 structure/writing and TOEFL (internet based test) score of 92 overall, with 18 listening, 17 reading, 22 writing and 22 speaking.

They must pay a application fee of AU$110 while submitting the application form; application form must be enclosed with certified copies or original evidence of English language proficiency; certified copies or original evidence of all academic qualifications, including transcripts and graduation certificates; if students are requesting credit for previous study, attach certified copies or original evidence of syllabus and detailed unit information and if necessary, attach any other additional information or portfolios.
