I really enjoyed my course at the ACE in Manly. The facilities are great. Good teachers. I especially enjoyed living with a host family which means that you have to speak English all the time and your language skills improve very quickly. Good work/life balance.
It’s not difficult to get accepted. I used an agent so you don’t have to do anything. There is an English test on the first day to make sure that you’re in the right class/course.
I'm not aware of any funding and scholarships.
The course is great and the teachers are very helpful. They try hard to make the classes interesting. Depending on your language skills I don’t think that you have to study too hard. I went to school from 10am to 3pm and had approx. 1 hour homework every day. Don’t worry – you’ll have plenty of time to get a tan…
The facilities are good. There is a computer room in the school. But the best bit is that the school is right next to the beach. Manly is ok. There are plenty of restaurants and a few bars. It only takes 30 minutes by ferry to the city centre. I lived with a host family which was great. There were very friendly and I instantly felt at home. In fact, I didn’t want to leave after 3 months! I met a lot of great people. I still think I had the best time of my life there.
It is very important to speak English so I think this course helped me a lot.
