When I came here, I had culture shock. It was very different compared to the place I came from. The people here are very open minded. As I came from a very traditional family and religious background, we conserve very conservative mindset. It took me a while to digest the culture here. Swinburne is quite all right for students that are looking for a different environment to study.
It wasn't hard. The process was quite simple as long as we follow the instructions. First, I had to submit the application. When I was offered a place here, I started applying for Visa and Health Insurance, and at the same time I had to medical check up. It was quite organized. Students can try to apply themselves, if they have difficulty, they can find agent to settle it.
I came to study here on study loan offered by the Malaysian Government. I applied it when I was studying in matriculation. It was recommended by the lecturer in matriculation. They were very helpful. For students that could not afford studying abroad should look for loans or even scholarships. Students that are smart and sustained good results always have higher chance to get scholarships.
Bachelor of Business (International Business) is a vocationally orientated degree designed to equip students with the practical skills and knowledge for a global career. It teaches us about dealing with business internationally and the skills needed to do so. I study for 16 hours each week excluding my own study time. When I don't understand about my studies, I always refer to my tutor and even ask help from my classmates. So far, it is.
The facilities are okay but there is always a room for improvement. This is to adapt to the ever changing needs. Melbourne is okay. Even though it's way different from Malaysia, I enjoy seeking for in depth understanding about the culture and people here. I tried applying for few jobs, it's quite difficult for me. I never heard about clubs for Malaysian students.
I believe when I finish my degree here, I will be able to find many possible jobs. My studies prepare us for entrance to a range of specialist and generalist business professions. I have high hope on myself. Yes, I will keep in touch with my classmates. I made a great number of good friends especially Malaysian.
